Transport for New South Wales

Central to the process was a team collaboration led by Bernadette (B) Hardy, a Dharug and Gamilaraay public artist, custodian and qualified designer. The stories shared in B’s process guided the workplace design and were further embedded into a series of hand-drawn artworks.

Spanning corridors and breakout spaces, these features embed cultural knowledge into the everyday fabric of the workplace. Aligned with the building’s sightlines, the stories act as a deeper wayfinding of place, guiding movement, anchoring connection, and situating people within Country. They focus on kinship with the Gawura (Whale), Burra (Eel), Wallumai (Snapper Fish) and Garad (Yellow-tailed Black Cockatoo), each character carrying a distinct sense of place across the floor.
