Deakin University’s new Law School in Melbourne is a contemporary education space designed by Woods Bagot to adapt to the future of teaching. Embedding a suite of wayfinding and placemaking elements into this innovative space, THERE provided the university campus with a new landmark.
One of the university’s key aspects of wayfinding is a large-scale brandmark that stands at the entrance to the main building. It was designed and created to reflect the materiality of zinc-clad forms, serving as both building identifier and as a navigational beacon within the larger campus. Its size and rarity completely engages campus staff, students and visitors upon arrival.
