Heritage chic finds larrikin soul

Nestled in a pocket of Darling Harbour rich in industrial and working-class heritage, this boutique hotel is set in a prior woolstore constructed in – you guessed it – 1888.

But there’s nothing old-fashioned about this vibrant hotel experience. From the colourful contemporary design to the industrial-chic interiors with an art-splashed attitude, this is a striking Sydney stay.

Working with the ambitious Ovolo Group THERE sought to re-invigorate a tired hotel brand through the creation of a new name, positioning, brand and design of customer touchpoint.

Newly named The Woolstore 1888 – The creative approach takes inspiration from the beautiful heritage industrial-period style architecture along with its graceful arched doorways, high ceilings and linear details – we crafted a stylised hand-drawn sheep icon that’s sits beneath an understated, geometric archway to create a distinct and characteristic brand mark.

Whether counting-sheep in the sophisticated suites, or sipping a red in the downstairs bar guests are surrounded by a cheeky tone of voice brand that reminds them of the building’s rich history.
