Ibis Styles Sydney Central is a re-badged, repositioned hotel designed to appeal to a discerning demographic in the heart of Sydney. The newly developed destination aims to provide a unique uplift to the Ibis Styles brand.
Mee So– the ground-floor Asian-fusion bar and restaurant – provides a major new attraction for both in-house guests and passing public. A pop-culture mash-up plays out in a blend of installations that represent the vibrant cities of Seoul and Tokyo. Rich reds are offset with glowing neons, whilst signage layers Japanese and Korean language into the space. The ceiling treatment – a paste-up of illustrative posters – is designed as a unifying element, knitting together the irregular ceiling planes and anchoring the vibrant new brand.
The lobby also aims to surprise, mixing hotel check-in with cafe pop-up. Whimsical signage greets guests and encourages them to stay a while, creating a design-led destination from the very first touchpoint.
