Local Layering

Set in a once-industrial pocket of Sydney now shaped by galleries and creative studios, this workplace needed an environmental graphics program that reflected its neighbourhood – gritty, evolving and unmistakably local.

Taking cues from fly-posting, paste-ups and street art, the graphics were conceived as a layer literally pasted over the interior architecture. Fragmented compositions, repeated imagery and low-fi print applications sit against the moody material palette, building brand presence as you move through the space.

The design responds to the building’s industrial character – brick, glass and concrete become a surface for brand expression, while local street art references and site-specific interventions ground the workplace in its immediate context.

Drawing on content from the brand’s global output, the space connects to a wider international network while remaining embedded in its neighbourhood and local community.
